About us
Community OT service supporting your independence within all the spaces of your home.
At Independent Spaces, we specialise in community Occupational Therapy (OT). As dedicated healthcare professionals, we are deeply committed to preserving your independence and enhancing your daily experience within the comfort of your home.
Our approach is centered around providing individualised solutions tailored to meet your current needs and future aspirations, all while prioritising your quality of life. Through comprehensive home-based assessments and meaningful conversations to best understand you, together we develop customised plans aimed at integrating equipment or home modifications to support your independence in daily activities at home.
Independent Spaces is a private Community Occupational Therapy Service in the Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau region offering assessment within your home. Each individual, their functional needs, goals and home space is unique. We complete our assessment in line with your goals to create a solution for you.
Why Choose Us?
Wait times for publicly available community occupational therapy services can be lengthy. At Independent Spaces we have experience working with community dwelling adults and creating solutions to support them remaining safely at home and as independently engaging in daily tasks as possible. Manage risk of falls and related injury to support your independence and goal of remaining at home with loved ones.
If you wish for us to come by to meet you to complete an assessment to identify how we can best help, Independent Spaces come to you. We are experienced in assessing your home environment and how you function within this space.
This is our passion, and we would welcome the opportunity to work alongside you to ensure your home and all spaces within it are practical to meet your now and future needs. Following an assessment with Independent Spaces, accredited OT’s can then complete the applications for Ministry of Health/Whaikaha funding.
This means if eligibility criteria for funding is met, you will not be out of pocket for essential equipment and/or home modification solutions to support independence in your home.
Note/Disclaimer
The Ministry of Health/Whaikaha is currently contracting to Accessable for their equipment provision. The band for equipment is decided by Accessable and is ever changing. Funding is provided at the discretion of advisors who are contracted by Whaikaha/Ministry of Health and is not guaranteed.
